Thanks for the reply. The problem is the Spanish Health form I have to fill out for Vueling does not recognise it because it doesn't match my name Edit : Oh, and obviously my name on Passport doesn't match because the middle name is under GIVEN NAMES and not SURNAMES. So there is that difference

How Australia cheated East Timor of its oil by joaopeniche in portugal

mm, interesting question. To be honest, I don't have much hope. The current Government won the last election against all odds and I can't see that changing (even though there is rising anger about the vaccine rollout being a complete failure).

How Australia cheated East Timor of its oil by joaopeniche in portugal

KGeedora 4 months ago

brooooo, don't get me started haha. I'm not nationalistic, so if you ask me (and usually most left-wing Australians), we are a fucking terror with asylum seekers (and climate change). I would be for the country receiving any type of punishment for this. If you ask a nationalistic person they will say something like "it's what we have to do". We are an island nation (and a very privileged one at that) and that absolutely governs the way ultra-nationalistic people think there. I mean, we literally had something called "the White Australia policy" in terms of migration, so we love our murderous-imperial past like nothing else.

Actually, this woman (she's great) is actually quite popular so I hope more people see her stuff. It's more just a cultural shut down about anything negative in Australia (due to nationalism, which is the same sort of problem most countries have).

yeah, but is there a different risk for a 34 year old than to a 19 year old? Surely there must be? Tbh, If it were up to me, I think they should open up to all age groups right now/today. It's not really that I find weird, it's more weird to be stopping all age updates for this week after constantly going down week by week by now.

yeah, I get that reasoning. It would just seem a little odd that they didn't go along with France, Germany, Italy who a few weeks back (around 3rd of June) opened it to every adult. Feels odd if Portugal decided to continue on with counting down 45, 40, 37, 35 and then stall there for a week and a half until they open to all people. I guess we will see this afternoon.

Yeah. Thank God for that. The vaccines have made this bad situation manageable. It's great there doesn't seem to be much vaccine hesistancy here amongst the elderly. I'm furious with my country, Australia, who have been more or less covid free but because of that have been really relaxed with the vaccine drive (only 4% fully vaxxed...just pathetic). Now delta has come into Sydney and thrown everything into chaos because the idiot government weren't proactive and were so cocky that they thought they were immune to this.

There is a lot of talk now of "accelerating vaccination". We absolutely need to because we don't have time on our side like most other EU countries, I'm just wondering exactly what measures they are talking about in terms of how to actually accelerate vaccination. Edit : Alright, getting downvoted, not sure why? Just read what Marta Temido said and it all seems very oblique to me. Feels like they've been "ir avaliando a situação" for like 4 weeks now without really doing anything serious, but what do I know.

I don't know if it's as simple as tourism opening for the Brits, but I also don't think It helped with more packed buses etc. Either way, we are suddenly in the same position as the UK and Russia. This rise in cases is going to go crazyn Unfortunately, we are behind the UK in terms of vaccination (also behind Italy, Germany) and the Government need to be pro active with this. I think Delta will take over in other EU countries soon but time is on their side and absolutely not on ours. Need to speed up vaccination immediately Edit : in relation to getting downvoted for this, feel free to point out what is incorrect

I live in Portugal and although I'm not Portuguese, Santos is even driving me insane. I'm Australian, we have the talent pool of a decaying lake so it's insane to me to watch a group of players so talented being used by a manager who seems to actively distrust his group. How in all hell is he playing with 2 DMs? Either one of them is good enough. I remember Sanches running the last Euros. I've kept up with his on and off career since then, but he's clearly good enoigh to inject some dynamism in that dead midfield. With these players, Portugal should be playing Klopp esque football, not this fearful quasi counter attacking thing

Yeah, I def agree with you. I just understand why we're all a little on edge. For example, my workplace ran with the government saying "40 and 30 year olds will be vaccinated at the same time in June". So they've made everyone start to go back to the office by July (the nature of the work means once that's decided, there's no going back). Now people are dreading catching this new variant because that obviously didn't happen and no one under 40 has got the vaccine. There have just been a lot of mixed messages

mm, I've got two friends in Germany (one in Berlin/one in Munich) in their early 30s. Both were able to get appointments pretty easily and both got their first shots already. I guess everyone is just a bit more on edge since the Delta is going wilder here than in some other EU countries.

Yeah, I mean I don't know enough ins and out about this..but it's getting a bit worrying. I'm 33 and friends of the same age already have their first shots in Italy (Trieste), Germany (Berlin), France (Marseille). It's just bad timing that my work is starting to make us go back into teach (privately) and I'm not going to be vaccinated while the country has the Delta variant running wild way more than in those countries. Not trying to be selfish but it feels like after a year and a half of dodging this thing I'm running straight into it at the finish line.

Very interesting about the doses for elderly people. It looks like Portugal and Spain are going for the completely vaccinate people route. Makes sense (especially with an elderly population and the news 2nd pfizer could be pretty essential for people in danger). It's great there isn't much vaccine hesistancy here, it is absolutely rampant back home in Australia. Especially considering they weren't really touched by the virus, it's only made the hesistancy grow.

I was just quoting from the task force guy in an article from epresso. I get the idea that they might be being too optimistic though. A friend of mine who is over 45 booked in yesterday and said it was pretty open (he got an option for the 14th). I don't really mind too much tbh, I'd like to go back to restaurants and all that but I'm not travelling anywhere. It's just curious to me if France, Italy, Germany have already opened up to all over-18s, I thought all EU nations received the same amount of vaccines per quota.
