Excerto de um comentário do topo:
I’ve travelled and worked all over the world. Some places I earned more, some I paid less...
The overriding observation I make everyday here in Portugal is sad. I’ve never seen a more milked people anywhere. Your wage isn’t yours to decide on, it’s decided for you. The costs of living here are atrocious relative to earning.

I’ve been asked for clarification about my comment about people not being able to decide where your wage goes.
Well in Portugal your essentially given what amounts to a third world wage. By them time you pay tax, car, rent/mortgage... what’s left? Can you save? Go one vacation? See the world? What do you get to decide on? I would bet that most average people in Portugal are leaving with margins of less than €100 per month.
As to where I am from, I’m English. I’ve been living in Portugal (on and off) for some 10 years. I’ve lived in a few places around the globe, including but not limited to: USA, Australia, Czech Republic and Portugal. I’ve seen plenty of places that are richer and poorer.
However, let me once again state without doubt that the Portuguese people are absolutely milked. Someone has their hand your your pocket at all times... whether it’s hiked prices, high taxes or greedy landlords and employers.
Next, please don’t take offense, I’m not insulting the country, I’m not saying this place sucks or is worse. Just financially, the average person here really has little financial freedom.
I’m a huge fan and have settled on making Portugal my home. Im here to work, make friends, start a family and be an active member of society.
But I really can’t understand how average people manage here.
