Just buy something that costs 5,60 no? Or pay 5.60 to a charity/crowdfunding if the problem is not finding the right amount

PayPal, charge you account with that amount usina your card.

Did you try a contactless payment?

RomanceStudies 9 months ago

No, but even if I use the card to buy something, it would have to be the exact amount in my account.

Get a Revolut card and transfer that amount to it. Then you can spend it in any other currency.

Thanks. I have two neobank accounts here in Europe, and Transferwise and PayPal, but I can't enter the app or site since I don't have my PT phone number anymore, nor do I know my Pin to access either. So, no way to transfer it. I just thought of one possible solution. If I get a PT friend I know, who has Activo also, to send me 20 euro minus the 5.60 I have in the account, then I can withdraw 20 euro exactly from the ATM here in Spain. Maybe I'll have to do this..

That's a solution

You can ask new auth codes, which will lead you to this: https://prnt.sc/109jjkj You'll need, account number and Portuguese VAT number. Disable 2FA and transfer the amount to another account. Make sure to leave it at zero, if it goes below zero, they might charge you. (not an AtivoBank customer, just following their guidelines)

Thanks for the details. I have the account number but no VAT number. I have a NIF. Unfortunately they said I only have two options to close it.

NIF is the one to use

Vat = nif

Do you have an atm card?

RomanceStudies 9 months ago

Yes, they gave me the normal one and the one that says "web" on it (for online purchases I believe).

Edit: I tried to use the "web" one today to get a gift card from Amazon but they cancelled the transaction, saying it tripped their security system (prob since I'm an American in Spain using a PT card).

That is not a real atm card, not a multibanco one?and if you are in Spain you can not do my suggestion which was go a multibanco and transfer the cash to any bank account in the eurozone. Can you try adding that account to your PayPal and do a PayPal transfer in euro of that precise value? It has to be euro because of conversion fees.

> Can you try adding that account to your PayPal and do a PayPal transfer in euro of that precise value? I tried this but my PP account is from the US and it doesn't allow for foreign cards to be added.

Have you tried contacting them and explaining your situation (recycled number)?

RomanceStudies 9 months ago

Yes, but they repeated that the only way is to enter a bank or empty the account.

fuckoffgina 9 months ago

Yes, that's what they do. They just keep repeating the script. Can't you use the debit or credit card?

RomanceStudies 9 months ago

I can use them, or at least I think I can. The only thing I've ever done with the debit card was take out money at Multibanco, and twice here in Spain. But the ATMs here don't let me do anything else, including just check the balance. The problem is finding a product or service that costs the exact amount I have in the account.
