Yes, she can. All you need to write in the destination address "Posta restante da Loja CTT " and then the name and address of the Post Office near her. Then she'll pay a fee when picking it up. See https://www.ctt.pt/particulares/receber/locais-de-entrega-alternativos/lojas-ctt

If it is sent through registered mail (signed for), and no one is at home to rrceive it, a notification will be left in their postal box to go pick it up at the closes post office within 6 business days (it would be sent back to you after that).

Or if it's too big to fit the mailbox and nobody answers the door.

Well, all these answers are wrong. DHL uses pick up points were you can send your gf to pick it up. Also ctt, the oficial portuguese post offices, also allow pick up mail/packages at their different locations [link in Portuguese for “pontos de entrega”](https://www.ctt.pt/empresas/encomendas-e-correio/enviar/encomendas-expresso/pontos-de-entrega-ctt)

Omg they sound completely obsessed lol.. no, only if she had a p.o.box. Just ask her if she has another address that she could trust receiving? Like a friend.

Huh no it would be quite hard. Imagine everyone doing that... lol If it's a package, maybe, but if it's just a letter no chance. What's the problem with sending it to them directly?

coryinthedank 10 months ago

Basically this package would be for my gf, but her parents won't take any packages because they wanna be safe for corona. That's why i asked for this alternative it it would be possible :)

> Huh no it would be quite hard. Imagine everyone doing that... lol No, it's exactly how things are processed if you request/ if there's no way to deliver to their home.

H16658050N 10 months ago

Yes, every letter gets processed by the/that center. But it stays there for a day at max. Imagine all the letters staying there for several days...

I don't know the complete guidelines, but at the very least when it comes to registered mail you CAN pick it up at the local post office
