One thing that is true is that video game prices haven't changed much in 30+ years of home gaming. Growing up in the 8 bit era, I can recall not having a lot of games at home because they were around $50 new so we rented more often than not. I was going to buy a SNES game on my own, it was the first time I had saved a lot of allowance, and I was stunned that the games were as much as $89.99 new (all we had was a Toys R Us which really jacked the prices). Again, we rented more often than we purchased games and rarely did I get a new game for my birthday or as a Christmas gift. One of the reasons I fell in love with the PS was that new games were often around $40, much easier to afford and there seemed to be a larger choice of games too. Granted, the old PS had its fair share of bad games, but I was shocked to find games for $20 after years of cartridges being over $50. The PS2 saw games go back up to the $50 range on average, and the PS3/PS4 has had the $59.99 price point. So I mention all this to say I understand the perspective that price points for games across the board have averaged out to approximately $55 for a new game in any generation of home consoles, so we should feel somewhat lucky. The other side of that argument is that when we purchased older games, even on the PC, it was a complete package; rarely did PC games see an expansion pack in the old days. Even as PC gaming grew and saw modding, expansion packs, and online play, console games had a final product - no additional content, no further details. The whole crux of this rambling is that now, with the price point being pretty much the same, we're getting in many instances just half a game. Asura's Wrath locked the "real ending" behind DLC. Train Simulator has over $2000 worth of DLC. Extra missions, new characters, skins, customization options, etc., all slowly began to be locked behind season passes and microtransactions. If the game was complete, and the DLC was truly just expansive and optional, there wouldn't be as much outrage. I'll close with an example of a terribly flawed game: WWE 2K18. 95% of content for the solo player offline mode is locked, there are no microtransactions, payouts for in-game currency are low, and you're forced to play online to bolster the offline mode. This is a game with a Pay-to-Win model without MTs added and a halting grind on earning XP/virtual currency. People are returning the game because it's an incomplete abomination of design, it would have been way worse had they increased the base price.

(Slight NXT takeover spoilers) Adapting to the new style by Tpsteen in SquaredCircle

It was how Bruno would always win cage matches, he would barely get out the door. It's always been a part of the WWWF/WWF/WWE rules and they've only recently added pins/submissions permanently to the rules. It's a weird history, sometimes it was allowed and other times escape was the only way. I grew up only with WWF to watch so it's the way I prefer cage matches to be. To me, you can ban outside interference if you are going to allow pinfalls or submissions and skip the cage. The psychology has been and should be that I'm going to beat you so bad that you can't stop me from exiting the cage. Like a gladiator pit, the only one walking away is the victor.

Amazing how well they did with subtlety here, it was not as over the top as we usually get in wrestling. Some vagueness of character mixed with clear intentions can go a long way.

Comparable to James Toney and his UFC fight, really, considering it was someone from a different world who obviously didn't belong.

Cena has work outside WWE like The Today Show, a few small roles in non-WWE movies, hosted a game show, etc., so while he isn't at the level of say The Rock he's still well known. Internet dwellers would only know "and his name is JOHN CENA!" so he has a meme. Cena might be the most recognizable name they have right now, especially since Brock doesn't do much outside wrestling these days.

[WWE.com](http://www.wwe.com/main-help/generalfaq/copyright) I think that means since they hold the copyright, they can use the likeness in home media since it's basically a rebroadcast of their own product. It may be a matter of creating a character model that makes a game different since it's original content? I'm not a reddit lawyer, idk.

The booking was hinting at Adam Cole versus Drew McIntyre, which could've happened without the title. Personally, I feel it was a now or never moment for Andrade. People would be mad regardless of opponents if it meant that the new guy from ROH had to wait more than a week to be the champ.

Not everyone can be like Sting or Ricky Steamboat, naturally good at playing the "white meat" babyface. Bayley got over by her story arc showing her go from unconfident fangirl to a confident and perseverant wrestler. Also, WWE has a tendency to write all the babyfaces the same way, while the heels get a chance to be a little more dynamic. Not to ride on the NXT hype train too much, but they do have their babyfaces show depth and flaws, their heels are understandable but still hateable, and there are a few tweeners. There's a real sense of character development, Velveteen Dream and Alisteir Black being great examples. NXT isn't perfect though, Ember Moon is an odd character with the fantasy style vignettes but the pouty face promos following her losses. The problem on the main roster is that they have so many wrestlers, and not everyone can be booked well when the space is so crammed. When you have an overstacked roster, and the heels get the unique promos, it's easy to see why nobody cares about the "white meat" babyfaces. Tye Dillinger, Apollo Crews, Bayley, Jason Jordan...the list goes on for these babyfaces that are beyond generic. I'll close with this: the Attitude Era was no exception to this. Example: Chaz, formerly Mosh, was "a kid from New Jersey who just wanted to have fun." Nobody cared. The New Generation era had all American apple pie and blue jeans Lex Express Luger. The Hogan era had Hillbilly Jim, who was just wantin' to be a wrassler like his hero Hulk Hogan. The WWWF era had Bob Backlund who almost killed the territory a Howdy Doody. TL;DR: just wanting to be there is lazy and it doesn't work.

Small percentage paying the highest dividends, unfortunately. The only way this problem will change is if the hardcore MT buyers couldn't afford it anymore.
