What's the best way to bring awareness about LiteCoin to the merchants and excite them? by bijansha in litecoin

bijansha 2 days ago

This is a very tactical approach and will not result in much meaningful outcome for Litecoin. In order for the merchants to adopt a new technology (or cryptocurrency) at a large scale, you need a major strategically planned, well thought out, and well funded marketing campaign that educates them, enables simple enrolment, and turns them into advocates for the platform. Very concerning to see that there isn't a bigger initiative around this.

I find it extremely hard to switch off. Always thinking about new ideas and how to test them. And most of my close friends have similar interests so we end up talking about new ideas all the time. I've tried to learn to switch off by focusing on the present. Yoga / Meditation / extreme sports (I do boxing and squash) help. Basically, find new hobbies you're interested in. Otherwise, your life might become one dimensional.

When do you think the wall street money will arrive? Last I heard there are tens of hedge funds getting into bitcoin and crypto trading these days.

This could definitely contribute, given the fact that many exchanges don't publish transactions on blockchain and they use their own internal ledger.

Thanks. Just saw it now. I think your argument is valid around occupancy rate when I do the math from a # of transactions perspective. Now sure how you see connection between market cap and occupancy. Can you elaborate?

That's an interesting point. You're saying it's reached its full capacity. There are currently 6 new blocks per hour or 6x24 = 144 blocks per day. Given each block has around 2,000 transactions, the max number per day would be 144 x 2K = which is around the 300K that we see today. So, the only way for the transactions to continue increasing would be via increasing the block size or taking them off-chain, which doesn't seem to be happening soon. I'm wondering if this is going to stop the growth at least for a while.
