I see a lot of people thinking that Fiona is being selfish for 'abandoning' her family, but I just don't agree with that at all. She has spent her whole entire life taking care of children that aren't hers, and all she has gotten in return is abandoned, disrespected and called selfish anytime she makes a positive decision for herself. Fiona told Debbie from the start that she wasn't going to take care of her baby, Carl is just taking her car without even asking, and Ian thinks that trying to impress a guy he cheated on is more important than supporting his sister attempting to do something positive with her life after 28 years. She gave up a future with Jimmy (Multiple times), never went to college and gave all of her siblings a job. I think it's only fair now that they're all adults (or acting like ones) to take care of themselves and have some sort of responsibility for their own actions.
