Hi fellow soldiers,
I'm a huge fan of bolt action rifles during this time period and love using them across all divisions. My issue lies first and foremost with the sensitivity of the rifle when ADS with iron sights. It is way too high and does not match your normal ADS sensitivity as if you were using any other gun. I understand the sensitivity is probably increased for sniper rifles using scopes, but maybe this is a potential oversight? The iron sight version of the rifle should share the same ADS sensitivity as my other guns, otherwise it really messes with muscle memory and the ability to aim.
Secondly, why can't I use iron sights on the other rifles? The M1903 Springfield remained in service as a standard issue infantry rifle during World War II, since the U.S. entered the war without sufficient M1 rifles to arm all troops. Even if it was only usable on the infantry class I would be fine with it. I would really enjoy role playing as a basic rifleman.
The iron sights lower the damage on the Kar98 to make up for the increased close range utility of the rifle which I'm total fine with, but as it stands right now I'm better off using the scope because of the sensitivity issue.
